Okay we promised you some BIG NEWS and here it is.

AST DEW TOUR 2008

Nate Adams, Shaun White, Ryan Sheckler, RS Local Jamie Bestwick, Daniel Dhers and Ryan Nyquist. These are some of the biggest names in action sports, and as the 2008 AST Dew Tour gets underway these returning champions are the men to beat.

FMX star Nate Adams won four out of five events on the 2007 Tour and continued on to win both the Dew Cup in FMX and the Athlete of the Year title. This year, no doubt he’ll be pursued by the likes of Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Jeremy Lusk, Todd Potter, and Jeremy Stenberg on the dirt and in the air at the FMX competitions. On top of defending his Dew Cup claim, Adams will also be defending his Athlete of the Year title against all athletes on Tour.

Pro snowboarding sensation and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White stormed the 2007 Tour in just his second year of pro skating to win three out of five Skate Vert events, dethroning two-time champBucky Lasek and whipping up a wicked rivalry with PLG In 2008, he’ll defend against Lasek, Gagnon, and veteran skatersBob Burnquist, Andy MacDonald and Rune Glifberg. He’ll also have to watch for up-and-comers Alex Perelson and Adam Taylor, two young riders who have 720s and other big moves up their sleeves.

Ryan Sheckler came into the ‘07 Tour boasting that he’d win all five Skate Park events, effectively taunting his competitors. With statements like that, three consecutive Dew Cup championships, and hordes of screaming female fans (thanks to his hit MTV series Life of Ryan) Sheckler’s a marked man. Greg Lutzka stopped the Sheckler show twice last year and no doubt there will be others alongside Lutzka, in pursuit of top spot in 2008. All of the Skate Park competitors are friends and have tons of respect for Sheckler, but he also brings out the competitive side of everyone he skates with.

BMX Vert sensation and Rollersnakes local Jamie Bestwick is nearly unstoppable. He returns to the AST Dew Tour as a three-time champ, and rides with so much style, gets so much air, and breaks out so many insane tricks that he may very well make it four for four in 2008. Simon Tabron came closest to breaking Bestwick’s streak in 2007 and is also the only rider consistently throwing 900s in his competition runs. Speaking of tricks, 2008 promises to unleash some new to Dew Tour artillery, as Bestwick and his buddies all train together at the same state-of-the-art Woodward Camp facility, and they’ll all have some new tricks to break out in 2008.

BMX Dirt veteran Ryan Nyquist picked up his first Dew Cup in 2007 and will look to hang on to it as Dew Tour’s expert course designers push the dirt around to create even more new possibilities for BMX Dirt.

Last but not least to watch heading into the 2008 season is BMX Park dominator Daniel Dhers – the Venezuelan firecracker that packs more technical tricks than most of his competitors. Dhers will no doubt be competing head to head with 2007 rookie sensation (and good friend) Mike Spinner, as well as BMX Dirt champ Ryan Nyquist and BMX legend Dave Mirra. No matter the sport, all of the athletes on Tour this year will be out to prove the same thing. That there is much much more in store in the world of action sports and the possibilities begin now.

If your as much of a game freak as some of the guys here at snakes no doubt you will have been sessioning EA's Skate sometime within the past 12 months. Well good news they have now officially announced Skate 2. GET IN!!!!
